Nativity Scenes
A few times a year we as a daycare family like to participate in community outreach programs. We collect bandaids every February for Children's Hospital, we have done toys for tots, canned food drives, march of dimes etc. I am asking that we participate in one this month. Last week a former long time daycare family received devastating news. Austin (aka Oz) was diagnosed with Leukemia. He is in 9th grade at Blackhawk High School. It has been confirmed Austin has AML (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia). He will remain in the hospital for 4 weeks for treatment and come home for 1 to 2 weeks. This cycle will repeat for 5 months. 10 days before the family received this news they welcomed their 3rd son Zayne. So the joy and transition of a new baby just multiplied with this diagnosis. As a daycare family I am asking for prayers and donations if you are able. Please do not feel obligated. I would like to collect diapers(all sizes), wipes, gift cards, gas cards, I tunes cards ect. Anything that would alleviate any burdens just a little for this family. I will place a box on the ledge by the office and also in the School age hallway.
